Polly’s Chocolate Honey Hearts





2 cups Quick Mix Homemade Baking Mix (recipe on site)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons Hershey’s cocoa

4 teaspoons canola oil

7 teaspoons granulated sugar

Powdered sugar for sprinkling on top

The How To:

Mix all ingredients in a medium-size Bowl until well-blended or Banks with your KitchenAid mixer with a paddle attachment.

Spoon the dough out on a greased baking sheet with a small stainless steel meat ball sized scoop or in large tablespoons formed into perfect balls.

This recipe was adapted by Paulette Motzko from a recipe called “Molasses Cookies” in the Make a Mix Cook Book by Harward, Eliason, and Westover.

To make Chocolate Honey Hearts bake cookie dough in a greased small heart tart pan for 12 to 15 minutes at 375 degrees, and let sit in pan about 5 minutes before removing.

Bake for 13 minutes at 375 degrees, or until nicely done, but not over browned.
