Polly’s Lower Fat Good For You Granola

This recipe was greatly adapted from Homestyle Granola Cereal from the Small Wonder bed and breakfast in Wilmington Delaware.





Dorothy Brill’s version is in the above picture and my adaption of it is below:

1/4 cup honey, 1/4 cup canola oil, 1/2 cup of water or apple juice

4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup toasted oat bran
1/2cup almonds. Unsalted
1/2 cup walnuts, unsalted
Four tablespoons raisins
Four tablespoons dates or any other dried fruits you like
2 tablespoons chia seed
4 tablespoons organic unsweetened coconut
Trader Joe’s ground cinnamon to suit your taste

Mix all ingredients in a very large bowl until evenly combined and the liquid and spices early next. Put in a very shallow microwave proof pan and microwave on high for 3 minutes stirring in between every 3 minutes with a spatula. Keep doing this until the granola is been posted to the desired text you like. Let cool and then put another quart Ziploc bags or quart mason jars.

This recipe makes about 2 quarts.
